Grandma was discharged last week because her BP was stable and the aneurisms hadn't ruptured.
On Sunday, Grandma's BP spiked very high and she was rushed to the emergency room. I was planning on driving there after I visited with the new babies and then I got a call that they had gotten it down to a safe level and that she was being sent home.
Something really rubbed me wrong about that. It seemed inconsistent with what the specialists would have recommended.
I was assured that she was doing really well, so I decided that I'd go home and rest (we've been exhausted and haven't really stopped to chill in weeks) and that I'd see her after work on Monday or Tuesday.
Monday morning, Grandma woke up and had a severe stroke. Her aneurism ruptured and bled quite a bit into her brain.
She's been in NICU since. She's sedated. Undergoing tests and procedures to find out the options.
There aren't many. One in fact.
Friday or Saturday when the swelling goes down, her doctors will attempt to put a stent into the artery to bypass the aneurysms. This is our last hope at getting grandma through this. She wasn't ready to go, and we aren't ready to let her go so this had better work.
Seeing her in that state is so hard. I feel like a fish out of water when I'm not in that hospital. Being at work today is so incredibly difficult.
Tina has been my rock. With me every single minute. I miss having her so close to me today. I can't wait to be home with her after work. We go back to hospital tonight.
I could kill her local er for sending Grandma home. I can't believe in her condition, with her history that they wouldn't keep her for observation.
Please keep her in your thoughts, and prayers if applicable. I've been praying and hoping that something out there can make a difference. Those of you who know me, know that I'm agnostic leaning more toward being an athiest, so praying doesn't come naturally to me. I just don't know what else to do.
Please get better, Grandma. I need you.

Friday night, Zaine and Marley were born. Both babies are healthy and beautiful. I went to the hospital and was there while they were being delivered. No c-section was needed. Meg and Bear are very proud moms and I am so glad I was able to see teh girls and hold their little hands that night. They were in nicu, so I couldn't hold them at that time.
I have a few pics and I'll post them from home when I get some time. They are beautiful!

Saturday was the nationwide protest. Tina and Kat took the train down with me and Tina. We went into NYC to meet up with greg and her gf and JR and Kathleen (and others who aren't bloggers)
It was awesome to see so many of our own and our allies protesting for equality. I have pics from that too but I haven't had a chance to post them yet. I will soon.

Sunday morning, we went to see the babies and got to hold them. They were so tiny in my arms, and warm. Their little faces lit me up inside. It was great to get to hold them and see Bear with her little ones. Meg looked awesome and was discharged later that evening.
